We all have this fascination with time travel, with history and the past, but that’s all we can really do, is be fascinated by it. We can’t really do much to satiate that curiosity. But what if we could do something about it? I know the actual act of traveling through time is (probably) impossible, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go back.
What if there were theme parks for different eras in time? Not even theme parks, but places where the land was developed to reflect a certain decade or time period. The architecture, the fashion, the music and entertainment, the technology, it would all be specifically from that time period with no outside influence. When you walked into this place, you wouldn’t feel like you were in any theme park or some specially developed region of land, you’d feel like you were back in time. You could really immerse yourself in the culture and the aura of everything that went on in the past. You wouldn’t be limited to history books, pictures, or documentaries. You could live it.
Granted, there are a few issues with this idea. There was racism, segregation, and things of that nature. But that shouldn’t be a part of it. Historical accuracy is key, but regardless of the time period, there were always places that everybody was treated equally and with decency. I think it would be really cool to do something like that. Make it a vacation spot where people could stay for a few days at a time, make it feel like they were living in the past and give them the chance to absorb the culture and beauty of the past in the present day. I wanna pitch this idea to someone but I don’t know who I’d go to. I think it’s an awesome idea though. What do you think?
